The 1907 Indian Head $10 Gold Coin is a vintage U.S. legal tender coin. It was the first edition of the coin, which was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, a celebrated coin designer in U.S. Mint history. The coin is 27 mm in diameter and is made of 90% fine gold, which is 21.6 carats today. It features the head of Liberty wearing an Indian war bonnet with the words "LIBERTY" on it. Thirteen stars represent the 13 original colonies, and the date appears at the bottom of the coin. The reverse depicts a bald eagle puffing its chest among olive branches, with the Latin phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM" to the viewer's right of the eagle. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "TEN DOLLARS" appear at the top and bottom of the coin, respectively.
